Flashback

April 27, 2017

As you might know, these last two weeks I have been doing some travelling with my sister and meeting old friends along the way. It has been a lot of fun enjoying time with my sister and close friends while being a tourist! After a full day of sightseeing, we took these beautiful pictures!

I love the simplicity of this outfit, probably because I have a picture of my mum as a young lady, around the time she had got married and she is wearing almost the same body (see below). I love this picture! I don’t think I look as similar to my mum as my sister does but every time I wear this I immediately see myself as my mother!

I am a strong believer that the best clothes and objects that we have are the ones connected to a strong memory and a positive emotion. Studies show that the clothes that have an emotional connection to us, are used more often than those without. Research also indicates that by increasing the life of your clothing by a further 9 months would reduce the carbon, waste and water footprints by around 20-30% each. So it is a win-win situation when you feel great in the clothes you love to wear and at the same time you are contributing to reduce the environmental contamination!

Ethical fashion is something attainable for all of us. It is just a matter of being aware of what we buy, what we already own and how we can make the most of it. Fashion should be fun, enjoyable, self-expression of our emotions and responsible. Loving your clothes, wearing them many times and taken good care of them is one of the eco-friendliest approaches that we can bring to fashion.

Tell me, what outfits you have a positive emotional connected with and why?
