What are we doing to paradise?

May 25, 2017

How would you feel, if I tell you that there is a beautiful island in the Pacific Ocean that still remains fully virgin. This island is more than 5.000km away from any populated land and its beauty is so, that in 1988 was added to Unesco’s list of World Heritage Site. The ecosystem is so rich, there are 10 plants and 4 land birds that are local to the island, the sand is white and the sea water is turquoise.

Pink and ethical!

May 23, 2017

Starting this blog has helped me to realised two things. First, and quite surprising, it is how present pink is in my life! I knew I liked pink, but not that much… Second, and more important, this blog is encouraging me to research and read a lot about sustainability, not just in fashion, but in every aspect of our life. And today’s look has a lot to do with these two facts.

Refreshed Provence look

May 18, 2017

In today’s post, I am mixing two trends that are super hot this summer. Gingham and patches patterns! The gingham is everywhere and for this season designers have reinvented this pattern by mixing pieces made out of different colours or playing with the scale to different sizes. All these options including it classic version are perfect for the season. How about patches??? They are so 90’s and cool! You can add them to any garment, jeans, jackets, shirts, backpack. It simply looks amazing.

How to shop ethically

May 12, 2017

There isn’t a clear definition of what ethical is and there is no regulation on who can make a claim. So when it comes to buying ethically, there is no clear black or white, instead it is a matter of applying common sense. There are many different factors that you can consider but ultimately it is up to you to decide what works for you.

LBD

May 9, 2017

I couldn’t agree more with Vivienne Westwood when she said that we should “buy less, choose well, make it last”. And today’s outfit couldn’t be a better example of it. A classic and timeless piece that every woman should have in her wardrobe, a Little Black Dress. The LBD was invented by Coco Chanel in the 1920’s and has left us iconic moments in most decades. Such as Audrey Hepburn rocking her “go to prison” outfit at Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Lady Di taking her revenge or the Sex & the City girls with a pre-taste of what the 2000’s was about.

Can ethical be fashionable?

May 5, 2017

I think this outfit is the perfect example of how to be ethical and look great at the same time! I really like all the pieces I am wearing today, but when I mix them together – I just love it! Let me tell you a little bit about every one of them.

My first swapping party

May 3, 2017

Last week was the Fashion Revolution’s week and I could not find any event happening in Atlanta, so I thought “if the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain”, I decided to plan a clothes swapping party at home! Here how it went and what I learnt.

Love letter

April 25, 2017

This week is Fashion Revolution Week, a movement that started after the terrible tragedy in Bangladesh, where 1,129 fashion workers lost their lives and 2,500 injured people were rescued from the collapse of Rana Plaza. The Fashion Revolution has been working hard over the past 4 years to make consumers more aware of the issues in the fashion industry and the influence we hold. This year they are encouraging fashion lovers to write a love letter to their clothes. This initiative encourages people to connect with their clothes and appreciate them more. I think it is a wonderful idea, here is my love letter!
