During my trip to Peru I come across a wonderful concept store L’ Atelier Café-Concept in Cusco full of beautifully designed Peruvian artisan products. My husband really liked the graphic t-shirts of a lion wearing a peruvian hat, after some research we ended up meeting with Joy, the founder of the Ikarus brand.
After the NYFW it is clear that strong colours are going to be hot next season. Colours and trends are closely related to the social and political climate in which we live, and all these strong colour are a declaration of optimism. The world is going through hard times, but we decided to stay positive and hope that things will work out for the best!
I love weddings, it is so nice to spend a full day celebrating love and if that wasn’t enough you get to catch up with family and friends, which makes the day even better.
At the beginning of the week I shared with you my experience on Machu Picchu, but that wasn’t all I did in Peru. Peru is a country with an extreme landscape, which includes the Andes mountains and the Amazon forest. This makes me think that the Peruvian people dress in such a colorful way to compensate for such hard living conditions. Whatever the reason might be, the colorful fabrics make walking through the local markets and shops candy for the eyes!
I am sure that at this point you are all pretty aware of how much I love swapping parties! They have all the ingredients needed, you get “new” clothes while being environmental and social… But the downside of it is that your options are limited to the style and size of your friends or friends of friends! But Nicole and Edward Robertson, a couple in life and business, decided to launch the Swap Society. An LA-based website where you can swap your clothes with people from all around the country!!
In 1992 Caroline of Monaco went to Provence to spend the Summer away from the press, but the press always finds away to track down sort after celebrities and her images quickly hit the tabloids worldwide. During this summer she dressed in a simple provenzale way, and pictures of her wearing a floral dress went viral. Since fashion was not that fast as it is today, it wasn’t until the following summer this became “the look” of the season. I am sure you all remember those iconic dresses from the 90’s. My mother used to have a brown bottom down version that she stitched together herself, I clearly remember her wearing it! Back then when fashion was more restricted, the garments held more meaning and value to us and became part of our earlier memories!
Today I have something very very special thing to show you! I am wearing one of the most special looks I have in my wardrobe, my wedding dress! It has been a little bit more than a year since I got married and I was looking forward to showing you this beautiful wrap dress.
This week I have been all about creating different outfits with the same garment, so today I want to show you three great outfits with the same cupro top!
I am spending few days in Washington DC and I put together a simple and useful luggage for this trip, full of colorful and second-hand clothes! The items I am wearing today you have already seen while others are new to the blog!
